Obtaining your Marriage Licence in Arizona
Make sure you have the correct documents needed for obtaining your marriage license.
IF you are military and have military orders, have those ready to show and you can speed up the process of getting your recorded copy.
How do you obtain a marriage license in the state of Arizona?
Each County within Arizona has a Clerk of Superior Court office. (Pima, Maricopa, Pinal, etc)
When you go to their website you can review that specific county. If you live in Phoenix and get married in Flagstaff, just get your license in Maricopa county and make it easy on yourself. No matter where in Arizona you live or get married you can get your license there.
As part of my service to the couples I work with I provide more thorough information to you and even if you are Military in Arizona I have a few perks for you to note (let me know if you are military even for a destination wedding!)
The getting of the license is super easy, and let me speak to Maricopa County as that is where I am based out of. If you are a destination wedding or you don’t want to go back to the office to pick up your recorded copy (post ceremony), pay the extra to have it mailed to a correct address. If you are moving after your wedding within a month, then I would NOT suggest this option as you will already be moved and you can’t receive your recorded copy. Again, I have a few tricks here for you.
Schedule a time for you both to go in person and get the marriage license. The online option takes up to 30 days to acquire and is a bit of a pain, but if you can’t get off work then this would be the route to take and I would suggest doing 2 months before your ceremony date.
Then of course, please remember where you place your marriage license once you get it and either give to your officiant at rehearsal or the day of the ceremony.
Congrats!
